Ben Glass

As a cleantech entrepreneur, Ben is driven by a passion for boosting efficiency and sustainability through elegant technical solutions. While conducting research on compact, efficient turbomachinery at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Gas Turbine Lab, he developed the idea for adapting technology used in blimps and aerostats to harness strong, consistent winds above what could be reached with a traditional wind turbine. After developing the initial prototypes, Ben co-founded Altaeros Energies in 2010 to provide low cost, clean energy and other much needed infrastructure improvements to rural and remote areas around the world. Ben continues to serve as CEO and CTO of Altaeros. He holds a BS and MS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from MIT.
