David Gump
Deep Space Industries: Co-Founder and Vice Chairman, USA
David Gump is co-founder of Deep Space Industries, which is prospecting for near Earth asteroid resources to provide fuel and building materials for markets in Earth orbit, such as communications satellites, commercial habitats and research facilities. He leads interactions with space agencies such as NASA, which has awarded Deep Space Industries four contracts related to finding and harvesting asteroid resources. Previously David was president of Astrobotic Technology for the development of lunar resources, winning $12 million in NASA technology development contracts and putting a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle under contract for a Moon mission. In addition, David produced the first TV commercial filmed on the International Space Station, shot by Russian cosmonauts.
