Dr. Illan Kramer

Illan Kramer received a B.A.Sc (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo in 2004 and a M.Eng. from McGill University (Electronics) in 2006. He completed a Ph.D. in Prof. Edward H. Sargent's group at the University of Toronto in 2012.
His research focused on developing and optimizing architectures for colloidal quantum dot photovoltaic devices with emphasis on energetic considerations for efficient charge extraction.
From 2013-2015, He worked with the IBM Canada Research and Development Centre through the Southern Ontario Smart Computing Innovation Platform shifting the focus of his work from architecture development to manufacturability of CQD solar cells through spray-coating.
He recently joined the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toronto as the Director of Corporate, Government and International Partnerships.
