Adient LDT. & Co.KG: Vice President Innovation and Design

A consummate futurist with passion for innovation and design, Richard leads innovation and design for Adient since October 2016, across five technical centers globally focusing on developing future products, technology, processes, and discovering new business opportunities in automotive industry as well as adjacent market such as aerospace, to position Adient as the leader in the mobility seating.

Before joining Adient, Richard served as Vice President, Industrial Design and Craftsmanship, having involved in over 130 vehicle seating and interior development programs for various customers and supporting their product strategies. On a global scale he was at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, and previously, he served at Johnson Controls as vice president, Advanced sales, Marketing, and Industrial Design - Asia Pacific.

Richard started his career at Ford in 1987, leading the North American Small Car design studio, interior studio for Ford Transit, as well as Ford’s Global Craftsmanship organization.

Richard is a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and is regular visiting lecturer at various top design schools globally.
