Simone Hessel
GE Digital Europe: Vice President Digital Transformation
Simone was born and raised in Germany. She attended the University of Karlsruhe and graduated with a diploma in Industrial Engineering and Management. In 2002, she started her professional development in Turin (Italy) as International Management Trainee in the Graduate Development (Gra.De) Program of the Fiat Group. Post trainee program she worked as Distribution Quality Manager at Fiat Auto, where she analyzed and improved the costs of quality and in general the distribution quality for European markets.
After 3 years abroad, Simone moved back to Germany in 2005, where she joined Saint-Gobain Sekurit as International Marketing Manager for automotive glazing technologies. As global responsible for the Groups Chrysler, Fiat, Ford and GM she marketed glazing with additional functions.
In 2010, Simone joined GE as member of the Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP), during which she solved critical challenges in sales, marketing and strategy for GE and its businesses. Graduating from program in 2012, she joined GE Energy Germany as Project Development Leader focusing on market development for gas fired power plants and Nuclear Decommissioning. In December 2014 Simone was announced as Strategic Marketing Manager GGO Europe and was further promoted as Growth Leader GGO Europe in May 2015. In this role identified new and incremental growth opportunities for GE in Europe through initiatives in Marketing, Communications and leading the Key Account Managers for Verticals such as Utilities and Chemicals.
Since September 2016 Simone holds her current position in which she sets the overall marketing strategy and leads all GE Digital Marketing activities in Europe. She aligns closely with the regional sales team to define and track key campaigns, customers, events, as well as field and product marketing metrics to continually analyze overall marketing effectiveness, marketing ROI, and business growth.
To stay healthy, Simone enjoys high intensity interval training (HIIT) and jogging which goes along with being highly interested in nutrition and healthy food.
