Xavier Bringué

Orange FT Group: Vice President IPTV and Digital Home

Since 2008, Xavier Bringué has served as Vice President IPTV and Digital Home at Orange, a worldwide IPTV market leader. He is responsible for next-generation IPTV services & platform strategy. Bringué is the father of the Orange Box project, the next-gen STB combining the best of traditional TV services, an integrated TV app store, and Open Internet content and services (including social networking) in a new and innovative customer experience. In 2009 Bringué was invited by Intel Corporation to join its Consumer Board of Advisors.  


Before joining Orange, Xavier Bringué spent 8 years at Microsoft Corporation. There he served as Digital Media Business Development Director. Bringué was responsible for digital media strategy in Europe and South America. His area of responsibility included Windows Media, audio / video codecs, and digital rights management technologies. 

Additionally, in both regions, Bringué and his team oversaw all business development activities, which included managing relations with content providers, network operators, chipset vendors, and device manufacturers. Previously, Bringué held several product-management positions at telecom infrastructure / device manufacturers Alcatel and Sagem. At Alcatel, he worked on the WebPhone, a first-generation internet non-PC device built for Telecom operators and internet service providers such as AOL. He also helped to define Alcatel’s next generation of multimedia and wireless devices, including the WebTablet. 


In the early 1990's, Bringué worked at Apple Computer, where he launched the first version of QuickTime technology on the French market. He is currently based in Paris, France.
